Raleigh Wine Shop Grand Opening on Saturday, May 21st from 11-7

The Raleigh Wine Shop will be having a grand opening celebration from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. this Saturday, May 21. The wine shop is opening at 126 Glenwood Ave., across from 518 West. The owners are Seth Hoffman, a manager at Seaboard Wine for seven years and Jeff Bramwell, a manager there for two years. They have teamed up with Ryan Fulkerson, who used to work on the wholesale side of the wine business.

The shop focuses on “handmade wines,” where you know who grew the grapes and who made the wines, as opposed to mass produced wines. Saturday’s event will feature wine tastings from 11:30 a.m. onward, the Farmhands Foods Sausage Wagon and possibly coffee and cheese samples.

About the Winery

Palmaz Vineyards is a prestigious family owned and operated winery in Napa Valley that produces hand-crafted and elegant red and white wines. Argentina natives Julio and Amalia Palmaz established Palmaz Vineyards in Napa Valley in 1997, and 2001 was their inaugural vintage.

The winemaking facility is located within the living rock of Mount George, which is in the southeastern region of Napa Valley. The design of the gravity-flow winery ensures that the wine is transported under the most careful conditions. This old and gentle way to move wine preserves the wine’s complexity and structure. Brandywine Cellars will be hosting a fundraiser and wine tasting for CAN-Tr on Friday, November 5th from 7-9pm.

Wine and Whinny will include a wine tasting, door prizes, live music and silent auction items like A Cheese Making Class (for 2) at Elodie Farms and a large Filigree Panel from Sweethart Glass.

CAN-Tr’s mission is to provide equine assisted activities and therapies in Central NC to individuals with physical, emotional or developmental disabilities and to educate the community about people with disabilities and equine related activities.

Matt Hires concert and free wine tasting @ Aloft (9/10)

Matt Hires, the up-and-coming acoustic singer/songwriter who has opened for bands like O.A.R, Dave Matthews Band and Marc Broussard, is coming to play at the Aloft in Chapel Hill as part of their “Live at Aloft” music programming at 6pm on September 10th. Prior to the concert there will also be a complimentary wine tasting at 5pm.
