Winemakers from Favia and Vineyard 7 & 8 will be @ Taylor’s Wine Shop in Raleigh on February 3rd from 5-7pm pouring their awesome juice and signing bottles during the annual Triangle Wine Experience Weekend! These are $100 top shelf wines being poured for free.

4th Annual Harvest Festival @ Chatham Hill Winery (10/8)

On Saturday, October 8, Chatham Hill Winery will be celebrating their 4th Annual Harvest Festival from 12pm-5pm.

There will be Samples of New Wine right from the oak barrels or stainless steel tanks, and an End of Summer Sale on wine, gifts, and wine accessories. The 2011 Christmas Red will be released and they will be serving up samples of their Famous Mulled Wine while you browse items from local vendors, Elemental Chocolate and Baldie’s BBQ.

Sommelier, Steve Simmons, will be on hand offering Food and Wine Pairing tips as well as live Bluegrass Music and Winery Tours with the Owner and Winemaker. You may also purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to do some grape stomping like Lucy!

Raleigh Wine Shop Grand Opening on Saturday, May 21st from 11-7

The Raleigh Wine Shop will be having a grand opening celebration from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. this Saturday, May 21. The wine shop is opening at 126 Glenwood Ave., across from 518 West. The owners are Seth Hoffman, a manager at Seaboard Wine for seven years and Jeff Bramwell, a manager there for two years. They have teamed up with Ryan Fulkerson, who used to work on the wholesale side of the wine business.

The shop focuses on “handmade wines,” where you know who grew the grapes and who made the wines, as opposed to mass produced wines. Saturday’s event will feature wine tastings from 11:30 a.m. onward, the Farmhands Foods Sausage Wagon and possibly coffee and cheese samples.

On Saturday, February 26, BounceBack Kids will be hosting a Wine and Cheese fundraiser at the West End Wine Bar in Durham from 3:30-5:30pm with five different wines and finger foods to enjoy. Tickets are $45 a person.

Looking for something fun to do on Valentine’s Day while helping a good cause?

Wine Authorities is hosting a festive and educational wine and cheese pairing and tasting event to raise funds to support Durham’s Partners for Youth (PFY) on Monday, February 14 from 3-6pm. Simply donate $10 at the door to enjoy a cheese plate paired with a tasting of four wines (choose one by the glass). This will be the kick-off of their updated cheese selections and flowers, Guglhupf bread and Dolly Mama Valentine’s Day chocolate boxes will also be available.
