From the newsletter:

It’s been over 30 years since the famous Judgment of Paris Tasting (or “infamous” tasting, if you’re unlucky enough to be French), when for the first time, a panel of blind tasters awarded the top honors to wines from California over the host country’s submissions from Burgundy and Bordeaux. Wines from the Golden State went on a steady ascent since then, and have led in both the marketplace and critic’s ratings. But recently we’ve noticed some sales trends that are a bit surprising–in the past 12 months numbers are up for Bordeaux, and also folks are spending less, for the first time, on California Cabernet. So we figured it’s about time to shake things up and hold another taste-off.

We’ve endeavored to source the best examples of each classic style: wines that highlight by the crispness and acidity of Loire Valley whites, the elegance of Red Burgundy, and the structure of a fine Bordeaux. Tasting side by side against the juiciness of a Russian River Sauvignon Blanc, the wild ripeness of a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, and the power of a Napa red. Have a favorite style? Come on out and represent! Aren’t sure yet which side of the wine divide you fall? Here’s your chance to find out. Oh yeah, we’re discounting everything being tasted for 15% off or more!
