Sauvignon Republic Reception @ Hope Valley Bottle Shop

vino wrote this on December 10, 2008

Hope Valley Bottle Shop in Durham is hosting a Sauvignon Republic reception and tasting on Thursday, December 11 from 4-6pm. After the tasting, join Chef John Ash at GlassHalfFull in Carrboro for a wine dinner paired with these wines.

From the HVBS eNewsletter:

Sauvignon Republic is a company formed several years ago by four wine and food mavens, dedicated to producing the best Sauvignon Blancs possible from the world’s premier regions for the grape. This concept is based on the fact that Sauvignon Blanc is a grape that has great ability to truly express terroir – the French phrase for a wine’s expression of the specific area it is from.

We will taste the four wines currently being produced by Sauvignon Republic. Their current Sauvignon Blancs are from the Russian River Valley in Sonoma; Marlborough, New Zealand; Stellenbosch, South Africa; and their newest release, a certified organic SB from Potter Valley, Mendocino. These wines normally sell for $20.99 per bottle, but they will be on sale the day of the tasting for $16.99 (almost 20% off).
