Just received an email from Lantern about their annual Italian wine dinner on Wednesday, October 8 at 6:30pm. I wish I had some extra money to spend on this, everything sounds delicious! Details below.
From the Lantern email newsletter:
The meal will feature Chapel Hill Creamery’s amazing farmstead cheeses, along with pasture-raised pigs, grass-fed dry aged beef and prime autumn produce from North Carolina’s own Piedmont in a 5-course Italian menu and artisan wine from Italy’s Piemonte.
The dinner will take place in the Lantern Bar and, as usual, our guests will be local American cheese-making pioneers, Flo Hawley and Portia McKnight of Chapel Hill Creamery, who will be joined by winemaker Alberto Cordero di Montezemolo, whose family has grown grapes and made wine on their land near Alba since 1340, for 18 generations.
The dinner will be $120 including wine, but excluding tax and gratuity. For reservations or more information please call Lantern at 919-969-8846. Lantern is located at 423 West Franklin Street in Chapel Hill.
